Life Insurance
Group Life Insurance/ AD&D is an important benefit. Health Insurance
Original Medicare consists of Medicare Part A and Medicare Part B. Medicare Part A (hospital insurance) covers inpatient care, including care received while in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, and in limited circumstances, at home. Medicare Part B (medical insurance) covers medical services and supplies that are deemed medically necessary to treat you. They can include outpatient care, preventive services, ambulance services, and some medical equipment.
Disability Insurance
Short Term Disability pays a percentage of a paycheck (typically 60%), should an employee become disabled due to accident or illness, and benefits are typically payable weekly for 12-26 weeks, depending on the plan design selected. If Long Term Disability is also offered, then the length of the Short Term Disability benefit period will align with the elimination period of the LTD plan. Long-term disability insurance usually lasts for the length of the disability or until retirement.
