Complaint Type: Service Issues

Description of Complaint: A 2 man crew came to our home to spray a radial barrier and insulation partway through the service the spray gun jammed. Crew stopped work to get gun repaired. They were gone for almost 2 hours. Unpon return, they stated that job (radium barrier, insulation, attic cover, and outlet covers) was completed, obtained payment, and left. After inspecting the work more closely, I discovered that the attic cover would not close, radium barrier paint had leaked onto the hallway wall and pictures, beneath attic entrance. Besides this obvious damage, there was radium spray dropped on the entrance way floors, in the grass, and on the driveway. I was able to clean some of this, but I still have paint on entrance way rugs.After I complained and made several calls, a manager came to inspect work. He had to replace the attic cover, because the original one was torn and too large for the attic entrance. He also resprayed insulation, because he said that it was done poorly. He also stated that he would repaint the wall that was damaged. After coming to match paint and attempting to clean off the radium spray with alcohol, which left dark spots on the wall, he never returned. I called again several times but no one returned my calls. Desired Settlement: Other (requires explanation) Desired Outcome Description: I would like this complaint to logged so that others who are checking their BBB status will know what a poor quality of service the company provides. Since I do not want any company representatives back in my home. I would like to be compensated for the cost of replacement paint and painting supplies, cleaning supplies, and labor required to paint the wall.

I had four companies come out and to give me a estimate on radiant barrier foil and insulation. A Affordable's estimate was one of the lowest .I chose them because they took the time to answer all my questians. The staff is very freindly and has great customer servive. Job well done. A Affordable was great. I used them recently (May of 2011) to install blown Insulation, Radiant barrier-spray and two solar vents. I was putting off getting the servicrs done to my 20+ year old home because I thought it was going to cost a fortune, but I was pleasently suprised with the prices and I got a "multi-serive" deal. The guys were professional and curteuos and I have already refered them to a few of my neighbors, not to mention that I can already feel a huge difference in the comfort of my home.

They came 4 hours late and started at 8PM and worked until midnight on a school night. They left the hallway dirty with hose marks. They didn't finish the job to my satisfaction. DO NOT EVEN CALL THEM.
