A type of portable heart monitor that is a small electrocardiogram (EKG) device worn in a pouch around the neck or waist. A Holter monitor keeps a record of the heart rhythm, typically over a 24-hour period, and the patient keeps a diary of activities and symptoms. The EKG recording is then correlated with the person’s activities and symptoms. This type of test is useful for identifying heart disturbances that are sporadic and not readily identified with a resting EKG.

Vascular ultrasound uses sound waves to evaluate the body’s circulatory system and help identify blockages and detect blood clots. A Doppler ultrasound study – a technique that evaluates blood flow through a blood vessel – is usually part of this exam. Ultrasound does not use ionizing radiation, has no known harmful effects, and provides a clear picture of soft tissues that don’t show up well on x-ray images.
MRI
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a technique that uses a magnetic field and radio waves to create detailed images of the organs and tissues within your body.
Radiology
Trace Regional’s Radiology department has all the up-to-date technology to provide the best results for all your x-ray needed services. Our friendly staff will lead you through all the steps to ensure full safety and comfort.
X-Rays
Mammography
Mammography is a specific type of breast imaging that uses low-dose x-rays to detect cancer early – before women experience symptoms – when it is most treatable.
Computed Tomography
Where x-rays provide accurate imaging of bones and some tissue, CT scans are used to provide detailed images of softer tissues. These scans can provide measurements of organs and detailed images of irregularities.
