Overall
Excellent customer service

I had an appointment to try-on dresses a few weeks ago and although I did not end up purchasing my gown from the Bridal Boutique, I did enjoy myself in the store. The ladies were helpful and friendly. The store was laid out nicely and it was important for me to be able to pick out the gowns I liked rather than having them picked for me! I probably would have gone with them if they had carried the gown I wanted.

Overall
WORST BRIDAL BOUTIQUE <DO NOT SHOP HERE OR HAVE ALTERATIONS DONE>

WORST BRIDAL BOUTIQUE. I bought my wedding dress from The Bridal Boutique of Honolulu. I flew there bc my fiancee is in the Navy and we are stationed on the tiny island of Kauai. I went for a weekend to find my wedding dress. I purchased a Casablanca 1959 style. The only reason I purchased it was because the seamstress, Yee Mei, told me she could alter it to a mermaid style easily. She took about 2 minutes and loosely pinned it so I could get an idea of how it would look. I purchased it. My wedding was originally scheduled for April. I flew back to Kauai making a second appt in November for fitting and actual alterations. Yee Mei told me she would start alterations when I sent her half of the $500. The wedding was moved to September.

Yee Mei went ahead and altered my dress, including sewing my bustle up! I was never contacted about the alterations, I hadn’t sent half the money or given the go ahead. What she did to my dress makes me want to throw up. Since the wedding was moved I had a friend that works with my fiancée doing work over there for the day pick up my dress to bring back to Kauai. I sent her to pick up my dress figuring we would alter it later bc the wedding had been moved. I arranged it with the owner of the boutique, Celica. They then called me when my girlfriend was there to pick it up saying I owed for alterations. I told them I never sent the money or had even come to my real fitting yet and didn’t want the dress altered since the wedding was moved. They argued with me saying quality work was done to my dress and I must pay. They later released the dress to my friend after speaking for an hour and making sure they understood they were not suppose to alter it and her saying it was their fault. I was nice and even said if I got the dress and liked the work I would pay her! Pay for work that I didn’t even want done or was even properly pinned for!

Thank the LORD I did not pay for this dress. It seriously looks like a blind person did it. I honestly try and think the best of people but this is ridiculous. My bustle is sewed up, where we had just talked for 2 min about taking it in in the back; she covered up the bottom half of buttons with extra fabric. The seems do not match on the side where she took it in. I have tried contacting them to fix the dress they claimed was their mistake in altering but was “quality” work, but they said since the dress is in my possession they will not repair it. I am so upset. This is a nightmare. So not only am I looking for a new dress I am out the money and very very very upset. I have been wronged. So please take care of those seamstresses’ that do quality work!!! I would not give this dress away for free for any bride to wear. DO NOT SHOP OR GET WORK DONE FROM THE BRIDAL BOUTIQUE OF HONOLULU.
