I came to Mr. Kim to have patches put onto a leather vest. This was my first time seeking out a service of this type. I was charged $200 to put a total of 7 (4 large and 3 small sized) patches on. I thought the price seemed high but I didn't say anything out of worry it would offend him. Mr. Kim was well aware I had no experience with purchasing this type of service as well. When I mentioned to some friends (who had experience with this type of work) how much I paid, they were shocked and explained to me that the price was double than what it should have been even from an expensive shop. So I immediately called around, and sure enough the absolute highest price I got was $100. Most were even less. So I went back to Mr. Kim and asked why I was charged so much more by him than anyone else. I did not approach him aggressively in any way yet he immediately got really defensive. When I asked the reason for the steep price, he first said "I have to pay rent". When I asked again why the service itself cost so much, he claimed it was due to how long it took and proceeded to lie and say that it took about 2 hours longer than it actually did. I came to the shop at 1pm and didn't leave until 1:30pm due to him needing to take measurements for placement. He called me at 5:26pm that same day to tell me it was done and ready for pick up. He lied and claimed it took him 6 hours to complete the job, citing that as a reason for the high price. During the entire inquisition Mr. Kim was continually raising his voice and getting increasingly defensive as it dragged on. Aside from the overcharging, he also place many patches on crooked (despite the prior measurements being straight and visible) and sewed them on in a way that pinched the material together making it stuck with a bulge in a very large area on the back. DO NOT consider giving your business to this man!!! He's (in my opinion) a liar and a cheat! Not only unprofessional but also lacking in skill for this particular type of work! Horrible service all around!!!

I walked in and he helped me right away. I had new soles on my heels in about 2 mins. And he glued some tears in the leather for free. I would definitely go here again.

The guy that runs this place is a no-talent bum. I carried a $400 pair of J&M's to him for resoling. The soles started coming off in 3 months and he refused to make good on his work. He hissed at me and told me to get out of his store. He pretends he doesn't speak English until HE wants to tell YOU something. Avoid this jerk.
