Let the Fur Fly! Homewood Flossmoor's own professional dog & pet grooming salon, has been a dream for owner Albert Linschoten for many years. A local H-F graduate, Albert worked for years as a South Suburban Radio DJ, and then as a Sheet Metal Foreman in the Chicago area. But over the years Albert longed for something more, something to call his own and with hard work and dedication, 'Let the Fur Fly' was born! Albert worked and at the same time attended the Chicago International School of Animal Shearing, graduating in 1999. As he began his profession he soon found that his caring and unhurried approach to dog grooming was being shunned by traditional big box retail/dog groomers. Albert wanted something much more than working for some BIG CORPORATE CONGLOMERATE, herding dogs in like wild animals and cranking out buzz cuts in a factory-like assembly line. Albert wanted to be able to give dogs a private and inviting dog grooming experience where dogs could be pampered and cared for by a staff that felt as he did. Albert then went to 'underground' dog grooming over the next 5 years. He saved his money and worked to develop his own signature style. Word of mouth built him a following of loyal customers that stick with him like a dog grooming guru. Slowly, Albert was able to save up enough money to open his own Dog Grooming Salon. His first location was in uptown Flossmoor, but after only a few years in business, Albert was bought out by condo crazed developers. Forced to scramble for a new location, Albert thought all might be lost until he found and secured his new and permanent location in downtown Homewood, Illinois! All of his hopes and dreams were salvaged. Hence, Let The Fur Fly! has grown from the grass roots to what it is today a special place where dogs are treated with great care and precision. Where quality comes first. We hope you feel the same way, and thank you for your continued support. Let The Fur Fly! Dogs across the Chicago South Suburban Suburbs have been tuning themselves into authorities citing "Let The Fur Fly! " and their desire to turn over a new leaf. "Some of these dogs looked quite mangy" said Chief Billingsly, hoping the current numbers of dogs continues to grow. " This will clean up the whole South Side, no doubt about it"
