Uhr Books

Buyer beware when considering purchasing from UHR Books. I spoke to the manager about a book that he had listed on Biblio.com for $141 but was now listed on Abebooks for $195 and although he was not willing to sell me the book at the previously listed price, he said he would include a check for $20 with my order. The condition of the book i received was accurately discribed on the Abebooks site, but there was no $20 check and the book had been edited in English far more than i could accept from the orignial German which was not possible to know from the descripition on the Abebooks site. I called the manager to request I return the book in the original package and pay for shipping if I could receive a full refund. The manager said "this purchase is like items purchased at auction that cannot be returned." of course, at auction one can inspect the item and know what one is buying. The manager refused to deviate from his store's written (see Abebooks information for UHR Books) policy that "all sales are final." Therefore, buyer beware when considering a purchase from UHR Books.
