Pioneer Pet Care

We've been using Pioneer for the past 10 years. Can't believe it's been that long, but I wouldn't use any other kennel. We live approx. 30 mins away, and even though there are kennels a lot closer, nothing compares to the way Pat and Vince treat our dogs. You know too- you can see it in their faces at pick up- happy, healthy, excited to see us, which sounds like that should be a given, but it's not. I'll never forget picking up Gus (RIP) after a couple of bad kennel experiences. I never wanted to go away again, even just overnight! A friend of the family recommended Pioneer and I'm so glad they did. We've been so happy with Pioneer ever since. They consistently provide a great service- flexible, knowledgeable, and compassionate. There really is no comparison.

I have been using Pioneer Pet Care for approximately 15 years. This is the second dog I have owned that I board there, and also have groomed by them. My dog comes tired, but happy. She has been groomed beautifully by the owners and since I have moved almost an hour away from Hillsborough, and have checked out kennels where I now live, I travel back to Hillsborough whenever I have to board my dog, or have her groomed. No one, but no one would treat my dog the way the owners do, and I wouldn't even consider ever leaving my current pet anywhere else but Pioneer Pet Care.

Our pride and joy, Sadie Mae, has been vacationing with Pat and Vince for the last 10 years. She jumps out of the car and runs to the kennel door, trying to push it open with her nose - she loves it there! She is well taken care of in a very clean environment. When Vince grooms her, she always looks and smells wonderful when we pick her up. There is never any variation from visits at Pioneer - it is always a pleasant experience for Sadie and Mom and Dad.

My wife and I have been taking our Corgi to Pioneer Pet Care for the past 3 years and would not take her anywhere else. Pat and Vince truly cae about our dog and go out of there way to see that she is taken care of. We live 45 minutes away and have several options for boarding, but no where will find the love and care that Pioneer gives. It is clean, safe, secure and hands-on. If you have not had the opportunity to put your best friend up at Pioneer, then do yourself a favor and give them a call. You and your pet will be glad you did.

We have been satisfied customers for 13 years. Vince and Pat are great and take care of our Irish Terrier! Vince grooms our dog and takes care to make sure We also have Seamus groomed there as well. Vince takes great care to groom to the breed standard. We always get a happy dog back at the end of the visit.

I am new to the area and have to travel for business, so I looked at several places to kennel my 9 year old lab. I chose Pioneer because they are clean, offer large indoor/outdoor runs, and take her out of her kennel several times a day (for a fee) to let her do a "business" walk. Pat and Vince do a great job and I feel that my dog is safe with them. Yes, she does miss me and and I miss her, but at least I know that she is safe and sound when I return. We have used Pioneer several times and will continue to do so. We are all very happy.

I am a long time customer of Pioneer Pet Care and I can say with hessitation that I wouldn't place my dogs in any other Kennel. I have been using Pioneer for over 20 years, 7 dogs and 1 guinea pig and have never had a bad experience. The place is clean and well maintained. Pat and Vince (owners) are attentive to all the animals left in their care and will often go above and beyond to make sure all the animals are taken care of. My one dog Sadie, was so well trained not to mess in the house that when she was kenneled for the first time, she refused to mess in her run. Pat and Vince knew what to watch for and after the first day realized that Sadie needed to be walked. Had they not paid attention to this, Sadie could have ended up with a very bad unrinary or intestinal infection. I think of Pioneer Pet Care as my Dog's version of a Vacation, while I'm away and I wouldn't trust them to anyone else. I highly recommend Pioneer Pet Care to anyone who has boarding or groomin needs.

Had our dog stay during our summer 2009 vacation. We went with the raised bed so he would hopefully not come back smelly and wet as usual. The dog came back as though he'd been drugged and since the day he came home his stool has been very soft. The vets could not find anything. This is going on for 3 months now. He developed boils all over his body within a week of coming home. Later on he developed a problem with his eye that will not clear up.We were never granted a tour of the kennel. We were told it might upset the dogs if we walked through. There is definitely something going on. I read an earlier post indicating the reason for the stink is the method of washing out the kennels. Our dog smelled like he'd vomited and had it rubbed into his fur. We had to keep the windows rolled down for the trip home and take him in the backyard to wash him.

We have left our dog Guinness with Vince and Pat at Pionner Pet Care for eight years since she was 4 months old. We travel six weeks a year and she has never stayed anywhere else. I trust Pioneer Pet Care explicitly to keep Guinness safe, healthy, and happy. Guinness also greets the owners like family members and truly loves her time at "camp". With their love for animals, state of the art kennel system and on-site owners I can't imagine going anywhere else.

We have used pioneer for 5 years now...multiple times per year. Our experience has been uniformly great. Our dog, Raven, is an older dog on multiple medications(which have always been administered properly). The place is clean, smells good, and Raven has always been returned to us happy, healthy, clean and smelling great. The owners are friendly, knowledgeable and consistantly, are genuinely concerned with Raven's well being. We have recommended Pioneer to my daughter, sister in law, and friends. They all have continued to use Pioneer.Bottom Line: Having used many other kennels over the years, Pioneer is without doubt the best. We hate to leave the dog when we go away, but honestly, are comforted that when we do, Raven will be well cared for when we leave her at Pioneer. Pioneer Pet Care are the BEST. We have been bringing our Lhasa Apso-Freeway to Pat and Vince for 15 years and never had a bad experience. Freeway was always thrilled to walk into the door. Sad to say Freeway has just gone to doggie heaven this past week but you can garentee that our next furry family member will be staying at Pioneer Pet Care too!!

We left our dog with this kennel for six days. We should have been smarter as they "pitch" you from the moment you walk in. They continually try to upsell i.e. a raised platform to put the dog bed on. The reason they do this is becuase if you don't purchase a raised bed, your dogs bed will be wet for their entire stay due to the way they wash the kennels. You can be guaranteed your dog will also smell horrendous upon your return. On our return our dog, who has the best disposition I have ever experienced in any dog, was whiney, his paws were completely raw and he smelled so horrendous I begged our groomer to take him the same day we picked him up. The next day I landed in the vets office due to the severity of his paws which were by this time infected. He has not been himself since. He has been messing on the floor which never, never happens and seems to be startled easily and just extremely needy. Not his happy, usual self.Pioneer Pet did not come close to meeting our exp
