The Southwest High offers classes from grades nine through 12 and has an enrollment of more than 1,400 students. It operates through departments, including career and technical education, cultural arts, English, exceptional children, foreign language, guidance, math, media center and social studies. The school also coordinates programs, including the behavior intervention, summer reading and sports medicine. Additionally, the school has teams in wrestling, tennis, soccer, golf, baseball, swimming, football, cross country and track. The school s resource department offers a safety and security program for students. Located in High Point, N.C., the Southwest High is a part of the Guilford County Schools that serves more than 70,000 students in over 115 schools.
