Family Circle Magazine voted McCadam Extra Sharp one of the top two cheddars in the United States, and Tasting for a Cause awarded McCadam Adirondack Cheddar its bronze medal. McAdam Cheese offers consumers blocks, bricks, chunks, sticks, slices, loaves and wheels of almost any type of cheese, including Adirondack cheddar, extra-sharp cheddar, sharp cheddar, muenster and pepper jack. Its products are distributed through Cabot Creamery, an online merchant based in Montpilier, Vt. McCadam also company supports community non-profit ventures through cheese fundraising programs and donations from sales. McCadam Cheese Company was founded by William McCadam in 1876 and is still located in Heuvelton, N.Y. The company has changed ownership several times during its history and in 2003 was purchased by Agri-Mark, a leading dairy farmer cooperative in the Northeast.
