It looks like a cool shop when you walk in. Look around tons of guns fins camo wetsuits etc. This guy starts going off on me telling me how he has seen my type before, but that he ran a pro shop etc. I told him i want to check out some fins he goes off again telling me some stupid speech. I had to stop him and say look save the speech man I don't need to hear how great you think you are tell me about the fins you stock . Finally I say I can go a few blocks away and talk to Jako at dive and surf and did. I drove all the way down from Santa Monica and this guy was the biggest jerk.
So I figured it out after talking with a sales man at another store who had heard plenty about this guy.He told me that for the same exact gun the price gets jacked way up. Here is what he does he takes people and talks to them like they are amateur and they have found the real deal in him and a wealth of knowledge . He keeps dropping words like pro, serious etc referring to him. While you are a beginner and otherwise a sucker. He wants to up-sell the crap out of you and has a shop full of props.
I will not go into details but i can swim dive circles around that fool. He is looking to prey on customers not fish. He waits for people to come in and then tells them how this is such a pro shop and blah blah blah so when its time to pay you could care less about how much he overcharged you.
word to the wise no matter how much you spend on water toys it will not make better or faster in the water. I am pissed off because with traffic on a sat it took some time to get down there and it was a total waste of time. don't spend a dime in that shop.
