Dental Examination
Then we do a periodontal screening where we do six readings around each tooth to check for pockets. This is followed by an oral cancer exam using the VELscope, a device that screens for oral cancer. Then I [Dr Ann] will check each tooth and come up with a treatment plan and the hygienist will provide a cleaning for the patient.
