Window Candles

I have 26 windowcandles installed. Simple plastic tubes with decorative base. Appearance is as expected and I'm pleased with how they look. The part that is EXTREMELY disappointing is the cheap bulbs. They are constantly blowing out. I have spent over $60 in the last two years in replacement bulbs. These are rated at 6,000 hours. I don't know where this number even came from. At 8 hours a day, that's 750 days. I'm lucky if I get 4 months.

The website says the candles are built in USA. The bulbs are outsourced and you can tell cost containment is of highest priority. $7.99 for a box of 5 bulbs that last 4 months due to all the blowouts is outrageous. I'm now stuck buying more bulbs otherwise it looks out of place to have window candles without being on.

Can't recommend this product at this time. Maybe the next batch of bulbs will be better. At the time of this writing, I have 3 blown bulbs I'm waiting for shippment to replace. This review is refering to the clear bulbs specifically but I suspect it applies to the whole line.

We have had your window candles system in our home located in PA. We were so excited to purchase and have your system installed in our home approximately 3.5 years ago (2010). We get lots of great feedback from our friends. We have over 50 candles throughout our home! It was a big investment for us but we felt it was worth it in the long run.

I am writing to you to say that I have been very disappointed with your system. We have had to replace over 100 lightbulbs that have gone out on us since we had the system installed. We have had 5 candles completely fail. The initial upfront cost in materials was (Close to $3,000) was one thing. But I truly believe that the lightbulbs are total failures. The fact that they "burnout" so quickly is terribly disappointing and awfully expensive. At $8/ 5 pack. we are at almost $800 of lightbulbs that we have had to buy and at $30/candle we are at $150 in candles.

Our friends often ask us who the window candles are made from and we we tell them that Window Candles is the company. We also follow that up by saying that we have been very disappointed in the workmanship of the lightbulbs and candles themselves.

My brother-in-law is a high end builder on the "Mainline" . He built our home and asks me about our experience I state the same. The beauty that the candles add to our home is unquestionnable but the cost of maintaining the lightbulbs and candles is beyond our expectation. After going to your website today, I see that you now have LEDs that are supposed to last longer than the original bulbs. At the cost of $5.49/bulb, I think that is a crime. It makes sense that you would offer an LED bulb since the original bulbs are such a failure.

Now, I find myself having to buy more bulbs. and I have to replace the 5 candles. I have 8 bulbs out that I replaced 4 months ago. Our lights are on Lutron and go on at 7 pm and off at 10 pm. That is only 3 hours a night.

To say that we are disappointed in your system is an understatement. Unfortunately, we have invested far too much money in your system.
