Mountain Valley Management

Mountain Valley property management had done a nice job managing my property. Steve is a very competent manager,always did what he promise.Responded and solved any issues quickly and professionally. Provided with information in a timely manner. Has a great knowledge of the local and federal laws. As a landlord I had a stress free experience.

I don't understand why this company has such bad reviews. I have absolutely loved living here. They are really kind and professional. They are quick to respond to any kind of question or requests, and the rental prices are really good. The only issue I have ever had was with initially using their website, and they handled it for me over the phone. Very pleased.

Friends of mine rented from Mountain Valley Management. They had them sign an extremely restrictive contract, and kept being very nosey..

Although they are quick to respond to maintenance issues, I feel that they do not take good care of their properties (at least mine). My townhouse needs a lot of TLC which I have mentioned several times. "If it's not broke, just leave it and ignore it" seems to to be the motto. When we moved in there was patched up drywall spots everywhere, not sanded or painted. The trim was a complete disaster in most of the house, the shed needs a new roof and repainted or new boards (rotting away) and the kitchen counter top is warped and nicked up. I could go on..... I wonder if the landlord is aware of the property going to crap and how they "fix it" or deal with it. On a BIGGER note... We moved in January from SC. As I called to have the utilities turned on Mnt Valley advised me that the property ran off electric heat so we just needed to have it turned on and the pilot lit. So that's what I did. We moved on a Saturday and so I scheduled the gas to be turned on that following Monday. They told me I only needed gas just in case the electric went out the gas would be the backup heat source. When they tried to light the pilot when we moved in it didn't work. In fact the property DIDNT run off electric heat but gas. When I called them really mad, of course they changed the story and it became my fault. I would be very cautious when looking into renting through them.

This is the most backhanded, unprofessional, immature group of people I have ever had the displeasure of working with. They act like the gilted ex after a break up, I have been a model tenant for the past year and they are treating me as if I were the worst person on the planet. I pay my rent on time, I never complain when something doesn't work (my drain in the bathtub has been broken since I moved in) and I have never had a noise complaint. I'm courteous to my neighbors as well as the office staff but, now they are trying to find anything they can to make it seem as if I were some sort of criminal who is running a drug ring out of my tiny apartment. It's just despicable and I will never rent from this company again. Way to go mountain valley, you lost a loyal and financially punctual tenant.
