Founded in 1925, Lawnton Fire Co. provides a range of emergency fire-fighting services and equipment to the residents of Harrisburg Community in Pennsylvania. The department operates a fleet consisting of Engine 44, Rescue 44, Squad 44 and Retired Rescue 44. Engine 44 is a 2000 Pierce Lance 105' aerial with a nine-person cab, having a 1500 GPM (Gallons Per Minute) pump and carries 500 gallons of water. Its Rescue 44 is a 2008 Pierce custom Quantum with a 20 feet raised roof, seating for 10 firefighters, TAK-4 independent front suspension, Neway air rider rear suspension and side roll protection. The company s firefighters are trained at the John P. Shoemaker Public Safety Center located at Harrisburg Area Community College. In addition, Lawnton Fire Co. sells fire-rescue apparel to the residents of the community.
