Toe Surgery
When you undergo toe surgery for neuromas, we will make an incision along the top of the foot where the neuroma is located. The most common areas for the incision include between the second and third toes or the third and fourth toes. Once we locate the nerve, our foot surgeon will remove it.
Achilles Surgery
Our foot surgeon will use Achilles surgery to restore a torn or ruptured tendon. The foot doctor will make an incision along the back of the leg, just above the heel, to provide access to the damaged tendon. They will then sew it back together. We may recommend waiting to have surgery until about a week after the injury occurs to reduce swelling and allow for best results. If you have Charcot foot, the cast controls your foot`s movement and supports its contours if you don`t put any weight on it. To use a total contact cast, you need good blood flow in your foot. The cast is changed every week or two until your foot heals. A custom-walking boot is an another way to treat your Charcot foot. Dr. Thimesch utilizes the latest, most advanced techniques for correcting bunions, like the Swiss Compression Technique. This new technique in bunion correction, developed in Switzerland, involves cutting the protruding bone, then realigning it using a small, stainless steel screw.
