Ceiling Fans
Photos featuring Jim and Sandy Tolbert's residence in Kilgore Plantation, Simpsonville, SC, can be found in the September issue of TALK Magazine. Pictured is the outdoor living gazebo area of the home that includes a fireplace, Primo smoker, refrigerator and sink. The vaulted ceilings are covered with Wyoming Snow Fence wood. The custom built cabinet doors are crafted of the same lumber. In the past, ceiling fans were preferable for this type of area, however, in our quest to keep in step with the current trends, we chose to install a beautiful custom made chandelier. The cabinets and fireplace are made with a brick veneer, and painted to match the home for continuity. All patio area and floor inside gazebo area consists of Pennsylvania bluestone cut in three shapes, to add to the design appeal. Fountain located in front of gazebo was previously a jacuzzi which was filled in with excess brick from the job. Addition of the fountain further enhances the area.

Fencing
We offer several types of fencing, including wood, aluminum and vinyl. In terms of style, there are several choices with wood fencing including privacy, semi-privacy, shadow box or Charleston style. Our wood fences are made of pressure treated material with 4x4 posts around the perimeter of the yard, with 6x6 posts used for gates. All sections are custom built to run with the grade of the yard. Our aluminum fencing is available in black (other colors available by special order). Aluminum is preferable over wood due to the fact that there is no maintenance required. Vinyl fencing, available in white (and other colors by special order), is another great alternative as it is also maintenance free. Fences are available with or without an arch, dependent upon personal choice. No matter which material or style you choose, be assured that BKF Builders will provide the highest quality workmanship.
Walkways

Decks
If you can dream it...we can build it! At BKF Builders we strive to build the deck you have always dreamed of. All of our decks are custom built to fit your individual needs and budget. When building a deck you have a wide variety of options in terms of materials, such as pressure treated, composite, IPE, cedar, aluminum and vinyl. All of our decks are built with a double 2x10 outside band and 6x6 support posts. All of our joists are oversized to eliminate bounce. Our decking is screwed through the surface, or we also offer a hidden fastener method to eliminate all surface screws. Our handrails are screwed together. "No Nails". The handrail posts are 6x6 with a 2x4 top and bottom and a 2x6 cap. The reason we use screws with all of the handrails is to try to eliminate the twisting, turning and warping of the lumber. Accessories can also transform your deck from ordinary to outstanding. For example, upgrades such as powder coated steel pickets or copper caps for your handrail posts enhance the overall appearance. Porches
A screen porch is a great place to spend a quiet evening, whatever the season might be. Not only will it protect you from insects, but it is a great addition to your home in terms of increasing the overall value. We offer two types of screening systems. One is the screen tight system which is mounted to the wood around the perimeter of the porch. The screen is splined in to give it a no sag fit and finished off with a vinyl or wood cap. We also offer a no maintenance alternative in aluminum, available in three colors (white, ivory or bronze). All support posts and rails are made from the same material to give it a great look without the maintenance. The screen is splined into the aluminum to give it a no sag fit.
