It was terrible did not like my hair at all never again will I enter dem doors 1st and last time

I went to matys last week & wen I got there I had to go back & get more money cuz they changed the price than wat they told me b4 & the person that did my hair was real rude all she did was talk on the phone rite loud n my ear laughing & all she took to long & wen she finish my hair she put a nasty towel round me to put my hair n the water & wen she was sweeping she didn't even wash her hands just started working bk on my hair I wud never go there again & would not recommend this place

I wish I had read the reviews first don't go there they are unprofessional unfriendly and rude messed my hair up on purpose and I paid 200 hundred dollars I wish I could post a picture everybody will no how bad you are I will never speak positive about Matys shop ever����

This place is, indeed, horrible. There are no words to describe how awful of a job the woman did for simple cornrows. First off, she kept changing the price. Now, I refused to haggle on my sister's price because I was treating her to a girls day since she has been very busy with children and college. But I felt $80 for simple cornrows with my own hair was a bit much. After getting a total price for both styles, I sat down to get my hair done. I have been relaxer free for over two years. If she didn't know how to work with my hair she should have said so. She started off with my hair dry, she added no moisturizer whatsoever and proceeded to comb through my hair. She was snagging and pulling my hair and when I complained she handed me the comb. I thought fine, I will do it, maybe she is trying not to hurt me. After I finished, all she put on the table was a cheap jar of Jam gel. We used this in high school so I didn't expect to see it in a salon. I did notice that they had few products on the counters where they do the hair so I thought it may have been under the cabinet. She proceeds to cornrow my dry hair and she is snatching and pulling every step of the way. I do expect some discomfort from getting my hair braided. However, I couldn't get close enough to the mirror when she finished to get the best view. I believe she actually pulled my hair out. She talked in French the whole time to her coworker and once she was done with my hair and paid, she never returned. My sister's style took a little while longer as it was more intricate and the woman was more friendly but her style wasn't what we expected either. The braids in the picture she chose were much smaller than what she actually received and the braids were done in two parts (rows that went to the middle of her head and a second set of cornrows below it). Needless to say I doubt they will be in business much longer and I hope they close down. We will not be returning and I advise everyone to skip this place and go elsewhere with a better reputation. This place had no review that we could find so I am hoping this will help others.
