X-rays
Yes, dental x-rays are safe. Some of our patients don’t want to have x-rays during routine checkups because they are concerned about radiation, while others want to avoid routine x-rays to save money. We’d like to set your mind at ease about both of these concerns and explain why periodic dental x-rays are a necessary part of your oral health plan and essential to avoiding unnecessary dental expenses in the future.
Oral Cancer Screening
We believe oral cancer screening is essential to every initial exam and recall exam. While no single test will eliminate the risk of dying from cancer, early detection expands the range of treatment options and increases the likelihood of recovery. Especially if you are a smoker, tobacco chewer, heavy alcohol drinker, or have had oral cancer, letting a dentist keep tabs on your oral health is just good sense.

Teeth Cleaning
If one of your close blood relatives has periodontal disease, it may mean you're more susceptible to gum disease, even if you are currently experiencing no symptoms of gum inflammation. So be sure to tell Dr. Welch at your next dental checkup if someone in your family has gum disease. We'll monitor you closely, possibly recommending more frequent dental checkups, teeth cleanings, and other preventative dental care to help you avoid gum disease.

Fillings
Resin Composite
The bonding material is a composite resin applied to the damaged part of the tooth and matches the color of your tooth, so it looks like your natural tooth. Tooth bonding is not only good for regaining a healthy smile but also for maintaining good oral health and preventing further damage to the affected tooth.
Veneers
Veneers make teeth look great and protect them, and they can give you a smile you've always dreamed of! A tooth veneer is a thin coat of dental porcelain bonded to the front surface of a tooth to help change the shape of the tooth or improve the coloring of the tooth. Not only are veneers aesthetically pleasing, but they also protect your teeth's surfaces.
Crowns

Dental Bonding
While your teeth are very strong and durable, there are instances where they may suffer minor damage that requires attention. Tooth bonding is an excellent option for reconstructing chipped teeth, filling gaps between teeth, and changing the shape of teeth (such as lengthening a tooth shorter than the rest).

Root Canal Treatment
Under the hard, visible tooth surface lies a softer area of tissue called dental pulp, which contains blood vessels, connective tissue, and nerves. Teeth have roots — the longer, narrow parts of the tooth under the gum line that connect your teeth to your jaw bone. The nerves in a tooth, which primarily tell you whether something in your mouth is hot or cold, are within the root canals in the tooth's roots. If you have deep decay within teeth, cracked or chipped teeth, or damaged teeth due to facial trauma, the dental pulp and tooth nerve can become infected, irritated, and inflamed.

Dentures
Dentures replace missing teeth and will give you the confidence to have a great smile once again. There are two types of dentures: complete dentures, used when all teeth are missing; and partials, used when some natural teeth remain.
