Overall

We had a the worst dining experience on Saturday night (3/30) and for the first time I actually left a restaurant without ever receiving the food I ordered after waiting nearl 2 hours. There are serious issues with the management and training of staff at this restaurant. I now see why the general manager is concerned with food trucks in downtown Greensboro. Clearly food trucks would allow for patrons of Triad Stage to actually make it to a performance on time with something to eat. There are other options in downtown Greensboro where food can be delivered from the kitchen in less than 2 hours (yes, 2 hours is the new expectation for me).

Steve and I ate dinner last night at Tavo Restaurant in the Kress building- downtown Greensboro NC. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! Steve had the fried chicken and I had the Cajun Tilapia- both were very good- as was the atmosphere, service and drinks!

It was a wonderful restaurant!...

It was a wonderful restaurant! Upon walking in, I was amazed by the decor! To me it seemed like a very romantic setting, equipped with wonderful art and a beautiful chandelier! The food was great! I had the cajun chicken with rice pilaf and mac n cheese. The chicken was tender and flavorful cut into little teardrop shapes. The mac n cheese was to die for, and the rice was perfectly cooked! The staff was friendly and the chef even came out to the dining room to ask my boyfriend and I how the food was. If your in the mood for a drink, the menu is stock full of all different types of cocktails. I got the Godiva chocolate martini, which included Absolut Vodka, Bailey's and Khalua topped with mint and the glass was drissled with Godiva chocolate syrup! Yummy! The drinks were reasonably priced and it only took one! The only thing I would critique is some of the tables were too close together. We had a couple on each side of us pretty much all in our face which was uncomfortable. So to the owner I would suggest changing this up somehow so couples can have more privacy. I was definitely suggest going here to eat! Especially if your with your significant other! Its reasonably priced and the food is great! Tell your friends and enjoy!
