Overall

I find it very difficult to spend that amount of money for tuition. It calls itself a Montessori school yet no one in Administration is Montessori trained. From everyone that I have spoken to (alumni and former parents) the school is just a shadow of what it used to be and could be. Would rather send my children to Northpark Montessori which is thriving and growning -- plus there is no tuition.

Overall
Just the begining....

We first heard about Stepping Stones years ago through an internet search, but it wasn't until friends whose children were enrolled kept raving about the school that we decided to look into it more thoroughly. We were truly impressed! On our observation day we toured the school with the Head of School who encouraged us to ask questions and talk to other parents. We were even invited to a parent dinner! In the Toddler classroom we were surprised to find that the students are taught to use real silverware and cups. The teachers take great care to be sure that children increase their fine motor skills and well as their large muscle groups. There's even a Large Muscle room for the students to use when the weather is too cold to play outside. In the Children's House students begin working with letters and words. The students learn counting, skip counting, adding, subtraction and are taught the concepts of multiplying and dividing. In the elementary level students work with the teacher to create a work plan so they learn to take ownership of their learning. Students in this level learn to prioritize, set and achieve goals, and solve problems in addition to their school work. In upper elementary students prepare for the academic rigors of junior high and high school, and even participate in Model UN. Our child started at Steeping Stones a few months ago and we have already seen her start to grow!
