Professionalism

I am currently a proud owner of my first Rescue Boy, Jack Tyler since Oct. 2015. JT is an older fur baby and is currently in for treatment with a growth/heart murmur. Dr. Floria, her professional manner/compassion are second to none. Prior to JT, my little girl, Dolce was also seen by Chatoak. The entire team showed nothing but respect, compassion, and provided excellent care. Sadly my little girl passed away in 2015 due to cancer. Truly, I am grateful for the TEAM at Chatoak.

In order to keep their service the best, Chatoak recently did a brief survey which ended with a request for a review. Kind of amusing since one of the reviews they gave as an example was mine from several years ago. Well, they impressed me then and have outdone themselves ever since. Dr. Belding is still the best vet I have ever found.

As I said in my previous review, she saved my dog's life by finding a liver tumor overlooked by my previous vet. He never showed any symptoms, either then or in 2011 when she found a mass in his abdomen which turned out be an adenocarcinoma of the small intestine. It's about as nasty as it sounds but thanks to Dr. Belding's close attention to her patients and her perceptive brilliance, it was discovered early enough that the surgery was successful and Liam, who was the love of my life, stayed with me for another four years. When he finally passed at thirteen and a half, Dr. Belding came to the house on her own time. When she came in, Liam, who was half asleep with his head on my lap, glanced up at her, then settled back down, completely relaxed. He adored her and knew he was in safe hands.

Everyone at Chatoak, both the vets and office staff, has been unfailingly warm and caring, with special mention for one of their newer members, Dr. Srinath, who, like Dr. Belding, I first met during one of those middle of the night emergency crises. Both have the same reassuring attentiveness to their patients that is calming to the dog as well as the owner. Chatoak is the best.

One last comment regarding another review. I think it is unfair to blame those at Chatoak for the death of your dog. Vets are not miracle workers and sometimes they lose patients. Animals are living beings and unlike people, cannot let us know what’s wrong, so obviously, the first steps to take are immediate assistance to the dog’s symptoms and tests to identify the cause, but money doesn’t guarantee success. Medical practitioners do the best they can, and like anyone else, deserve to be paid for their efforts.

this is where I took Matty. I had never been there before. he wouldn't get up, wouldn't move. what a horrid day. they told me what they recommended doing and how much it would cost. it was more then I expected, but I needed to know what was wrong. it was worse than I could imagine. they gave options and prices. I wouldn't make him suffer for my selfishness which meant I wouldn't be taking him home. not what I wanted, but what was best for him. I didn't expect the sympathy shown by the facility since we had never been there, but was extremely grateful for it. thank you for the memory of my beloved family member and the caring attitude of the people.

This is one of the worst veterinarian practices I have ever been to. From day one, when I scheduled a routine appointment for my two dogs for an annual check-up, booster shots & worming and the charges were discussed, my son took the dogs in for the appointment and the office staff subsequently overcharged for services not discussed in addition to the above mentioned. When I called the office staff supervisor, it was agreed that there was a miscommunication between office staff and the veterinarian and they subsequently credited the money back. On two additional visits when I scheduled routine appointments for booster and check-ups a month in advance, I would show up and find out that the vet was not there and I received no prior notification. They have a website that you sign up to list all of your info, the phone numbers & e-mail addresses are correct on that site. However, the office staff had my phone number entered incorrectly on the appointment and said they attempted to call for a week only to get a busy signal. There is a clear cut issue with complete disorganization and confusion with the office staff and they clearly do not care. Thus I am forwarning any pet lovers that this veterinarian practice DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR PETS and they ONLY CARE ABOUT YOUR MONEY!! I have since then gone to another veterinarian who has shown respect and courtesy for my time and my pets' needs.

My best friend in the world wa...

Dr. Ram and Dr. Senta Belding Your the BEST. I will never 4 get what you did for us! Thank You. My best friend in the world was my sweet baby, my CoaCoa, my doggie. I was so lucky to have him one month shy of seventeen years this Oct. 2011. He had never been sick. 2 months ago he became sick, he couldn't breath I was out of work, had no money. I took him to a place in Thousand Oaks that would only help me if I had money. My baby couldn't breath. Then a friend of the family told me about Chatoak, they put me in touch with Actors N Others who put 150.00 towards his vet bill and that's where I met Dr. Ram who showed me that Vets really do care. He was always there for us going out on the limb giving 200 % of himself to help my CoaCoa. My CoaCoa had Tracheal Collapse and possible cancer of the liver. He had good days and bad, Dr. Ram gave me more time with My baby. He did everything he could, he is my hero Dr. Ram he never let money stop him from being a Dr. I will never 4 get what he has done. CoaCoa had 2 very bad days of struggling to breath, I loved him and could not see myself without him. I couldn't watch him in panic for air so it was time to let him go with the Angels and be at peace. Dr. Ram was not there, and that's when Dr. Senta Belding came in and without her I thought for sure when my baby took his last breath, so was I. She was so wonderful, and all the nurses, everyone there was wonderful. My little angel went to heaven so peaceful and gentel Dr. Belding was gentel, sweet, and so loving,I could not of made it without her, this is for sure. I will never 4 get what she did for us, NEVER. or Dr. Ram. Thank you Chatoak 4 having the best the VERY best working for you. I will never 4 get. Your inpact on my life will last 4 ever. I love you all! Julie Stremfel, My Angel CoaCoa

Gratefull for Chatoak Pet Medical Center

I have been taking all my animals cats & dogs to Chatoak since 1996, and I am very happy with the service and the care and treatment for my animals that the Doctors and staff perform. Some pets have come in with life on the edge situations, to where it took ex-rays, bloodwork and different kinds of treatment. I have brought my animals there when I knew before hand there was no hope, and yes it was costly, but to me it was worth it to try. One didn't make it, but several others did. I still take my animals there for shots, checkups, teeth cleaning and surgeries. I go to Chatoak because I know they will do what ever they can for my pets health.

The best in the valley!

My family has been coming to Chatoak for over 20 years and have never once been disappointed. All of their 12+ doctors are very knowledgeable and compassionate as is their entire support staff. We've watched as their facility has more than doubled in size and they are on the cutting edge when it comes to their sophisticated diagnostic equipment. When our pets need to be hospitalized, we are comforted to know they have staff and a doctor on all night long. It seems our pets always have issues beyond regular working hours so we are glad to know that they are available for walk-in emergencies everyday from 7:00am until midnight and no matter how busy they are, we are always greeted with a smile. Last year, our dog Baily was hit by a car and severely broke his leg. We rushed him to Chatoak and we were so happy to learn that they have a Board Certified Surgeon on staff who immediately took Baily into surgery. To this day he is still running around like a puppy! We highly recommend them to everyone! We were so sad to learn that Mona, their staff member of 20 years, had recently passed away. She had such a wonderful way with animals of all kinds.

Worst Place Ever

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. This place is the worst place to take your pet if you are ever in the valley. It is so bad that i am even taking the time to write a review about it. I say that it is horrible because they are so focused on making money that they forget about customer service and the true meaning of love for a pet. A couple of weeks ago i took my dog in to get treated because she was lethargic and not eating. Needless to say, my baby ended up dying and the bill ended up being 1850, for what? NOTHING. They didn't do anything to help me. All they did was take xrays, do blood work and give her fluids and in the end she didn't survive and they charged me for doing a whole lot of nothing! When i showed a shocked look and was in tears after losing my dog all the doctor said was "SOORRRY" in a sarcastic tone. If you can avoid it, do so. Def not worth it. Go somewhere that is going to treat you and your pet right. And if they are going to charge you an arm and a leg, that at least it's worth it and you get to take your pet home, ALIVE.
