Swan Lake Memorial Gardens

Not a Military Cemetary, grounds are not kept up. They conned us basically, cost my Dad thousands of dollars and when he died Aug 2021 the truth comes out.This is not a Military Cemetary, I'm a Veteran too and was to be buried next to my Dad. Dad had to be cremated and sits in a book shelf in my house. I have to find a MILITARY CEMETARY so thatI can be buried where I belong.

Col. Don Ballard is a retired Vietnam Vet, Earning a Metal of Honor during his Duty. Recently, he has taken over as CEO of Swan Lake and is offering a memorial, Funeral, and Cemetery service unlike any other in the Kansas city area.

I see the review below were out dated and under the previous ownership, Colonel Don Ballard has stepped up to the plate and changed things for the better.

I had worked at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens for a couple of years when the previous owners had it and cannot understand how or why plots were sold twice over when I had personally walked through the cemetery noting every burial and comparing them to the files and both ledgers and redoing them so they were in one book so that something like this would not occur. Eventhough, I do not work there anymore I do give you my sincerest apology. If they wanted me to I would volunteer my time and weekend to do it again.

Parents bought plots here under old management. Mom died 3 weeks ago and when we arrived at the cemetery for burial service, her casket/flowers, etc., were set up in a different spot from where her headstone was. In a different section. WHAT A TIME TO FIND THAT OUT! Office personnel tried to blame previous owners for mixups, double selling plots, etc., BUT they had 4 days to notify us of any problems and NOT allow us to show up at the graveside with this kind of mess. Their attitudes have been beligerant, disrespectful and frankly rude. Only after much pressuring did they agree to reimburse expenses. Now it's 3 weeks later and Memorial weekend. Mom's grave is still covered in all the old flowers. Her headstone has not been moved (as promised earlier in the week). None of the dirt has been leveled. Completely unprofessional. Parents had 2 other couples who had purchased. One couple have checked their plots and, sure enough, they were double sold to someone else and they had to pick out new ones. At least they didn't have to drive up to the graveside and find this out. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND DOING BUSINESS WITH THIS CEMETERY.
