Nice people, very helpful, and Jason is a great gunsmith and really knows his guns. His mother handles all of the paperwork and is extremely pleasant. They have great prices. If you don't like these people you must really hate yourself

I took a 380 auto in for repairs. While it did take a bit of time. I thought they did a very good job. I thought the price was amazingly less than I expected to spend. They were also one of the few gun shops that had 9 MM ammo even Dicks sporting goods was out and it was a major brand name for maybe a little more than Wal Mart would have it for but still a competitive price. They have been there a while and every time I stopped in they were busy. You don't get that and be a bad business.

I was amazed.......

Now I understand small, local businesses my not be up to par with larger ones. Some of the best work I have had done was with one man operations. But this place amazed me. Part gun store part nail saloon, hours of operation that are all over the board, a gun smith that has infinitely less knowledge than me and prices that are up to 20%+ higher than everyone else. And I won't go into how rude and unprofessional the staff is. As an avid shooter i have to say, avoid this place for your own good.

Friendly and Helpful

I like doing business with these people. They are always nice and take the time to help me plus they know who I am, not like at the big box stores. I will keep doing business with them. Sometimes the hours aren't as convenient and the repairs might take a while but I've never had any issues. The gunsmith has had to make some special repairs on one of my older guns and he had to cusom machine a part for me. You don't get treatment like that from Fleet Farm or Cabela's. I like doing business with local people in the community,.

Chimp with a chisel

I gave this Gunsmith a pistol in January 09 to have the rear sight replaced with another I provided. After endless delays, excuses and eight months he installs the sight crooked. Said he wasn't a handgun guy. He promised to make it right but after another month the sight was reinstalled again crooked but it also had interfered with a firing pin safety making the gun nonfunctional! He again promised to fix it but after a month he gave up on it. During this time he was evasive and either was not available to talk or when he did communicate it was to give more lame excuses. The one time I was able to call him on the phone he said that he had to find time to do it during his day job but didn't want his boss to know. Most communication was through another lady which may have been his mother. (She apparently had a side line business in the shop doing nails)! She stated I couldn't get in touch with the smith as he coached soccer at nights and would also be going on a hunting trip. She was argumentative and even though she admitted not knowing anything about gunsmithing she insisted that the sight I gave him to work with was defective and that is why the Gunsmith couldn't put the it on correctly. Finally she hung up on me.

In the end I had to pick up the nonfunctional gun after 10 months and give it to another Gunsmith who had no problem doing an excellent job in a timely manner and at a price much cheaper than what A-1 would of charged.

Incompetent, lying, evasive, clearly not willing to put in the time needed at his shop, overpriced and staffed with people not knowledgeable with firearms. About the worst customer service imaginable.

Overall

Unprofessional workmanship, grossly excessive delay in work-10 1/2 months for a two week task, evasive behavior when dealing with and disorganized. I dropped off a gun that just needed a rear sight and after numerous excuses and delays I have a gun with a crooked sight, parts missing, and the gun is inoperable-he installed the sight where it interfered with a firing pin block safety. The gun no longer can fire! I can't contact him as the only people who man the shop is a woman who has an attached woman's nail business and an older fellow who both are not technically competent. The shop is only his part time interest as he has a day job and is unwilling or unable to put in the needed hours to do his gunsmith work. When I finally am able to contact somebody from his shop I find he is out coaching soccer and I won't be able to contact him because he'll be going hunting. After I got a partial refund for the work he done I gave the gun to another gunsmith who fixed it up right in 2 weeks
