Solid Concrete Surroundings

In 2007 I hired Southern Premier Concrete Services to install a retaining wall around my mobile home on James Island. I mentioned to Gregory Frye and crew that they should dig into the ground because the concrete will settle over time. They said don't worry, and now I have cracks everywhere. Why is this guy still in business?

Stay away from this company. I won a judgement against them and they still did not pay up. I gave them multiple opportunities to correct or make right the job, but they refused and even threatened me. So we went to court. The company changes names constantly. The job was a nightmare and not done IAW contract. From delays, unanswered phone calls and emails, skimping on measurements, unexplained changes without consulting me, to refusing to do what the contract said would be done. To top it off, still asking for money after the job was not completed and after receiving more than originally scheduled. Even tried putting a lien on my home. BEWARE!!

I agree with the one stars, this company is a scam and will burn you faster than you think. None of the refferences he provided ever returned my calls. Brandon stated he would be there on a tuesday, fail to show up, then show up unannounced the next day and expect to work. Being a forgiving person( never do that again) I allowed them to work. They worked one hour and never showed back up. They took half of the money and refused to give any back. If you really want to see how this company doing, look at the law suits. Go to berkeleycountysc.gov under the "get information" go to "courts", then to"public case search" then "summary court" hit "accept" then type his name. I'm not the only one trying to get my money back. This company is a joke and he should be held accountable for all the problems he's caused.

I paid this company in full for completion of a patio in Dec 2011. The contract stated that the job would be completed in 4 business days. It is now March 15, 2012 and the job is still not completed. We have decided to terminate our business with Solid Concrete Surroundings not only due to what we feel is their incompetence on giving us a quality product but also their inability to communicate or show up as they promise. We are now having to pay to have the patio corrected by another contractor. My recommendation to anyone thinking of having concrete work is to not use this company or they will suffer the same stress and heartache we feel now.

I really don't know how this guy is still in business. I don't have a clue how he is with his customers but as a supplier to him (no longer) he's no good at paying his debts. When confronted with the fact that his credit card had been denied, he was combative and giving every excuse there was as to why he would not be paying the bill. It's sad that his customer will ultimately have to cover this cost due to the lein on the property. I do not recommend this guy at all. It's a shame that no stars is not an option as he doesn't deserve one.

Mr Frye is a Unlicensed crook. He has had many other company's "Concrete Masters, Tri city concrete" He has run off with alot of peoples money. He has changed his first name and his company name to scam other people. If you look on Angies list it states the owner is Brandon Frye. If you look at Concrete Masters Ripoff the name is Gregory Frye. I know you are the same person QUIT RIPPING PEOPLE OFF....

Recently, I had the opportunity to meet and work with a rep. of Solid Concrete Surroundings in giving me an estimate to repair and restore bathroom floors of our Charleston National pool facility in Mt. Pleasant, SC.

I was very pleased with the responsiveness to prepare a competitive estimate and professional follow-through after the contract was awarded. The end product is excellent.

My experiance with the rep. was highly professional. They demonstrated an excellent knowledge of repair/remodeling, and was proficient in measuring areas to be repaired, and demonstrated a good working knowledge of concrete repair materials and procedures.

If all company representative were as dedicated and professional in discharging their responsibilities, the process of contracting work would be more pleasurable.

I have confidence that SCS not only has the experiance, but the capability of completing any job regarding concrete work. Since meeting the representatives and having the work completed, I have recommened them to several friends and co- workers who need concrete services.

We ramped down a 2ft. section for transistion into the backyard. We notched out for the electrical wiring. Other than 2ft. ramp being an inch shy, all concrete is 4in. thick. Emails will prove I offered twice to correct installation preference. I offered to cut 2ft. section out and instaLl 4in. of concrete. This was a standard installation. As far as a phone call, I have no knowledge of that. Now let us return to our chosen work. God bless.

So, Not only did this compny do a poor job. Here I am working overseas, and I get a phone call from my wife who has just gotten 3 phone calls at 0630 AM from an unlisted number. This person started yelling and cursing my wife and demanding to speak to her husband. Finally this person identified themselves as "brandon" from Sold Concreate Surroundings. Screaming at my wife for my review of "his company". OMG!!!!!!! Are you serious. CAN YOU SAY PSYCHO!!!! DO NOT USE!

The above review is completely falsified information and holds zero truth. SCS is a 100% reputable company with year-long reference lists that contain job addresses, phone numbers, and homeowner's names and they make this information readily available for the homeowner's use. The man who wrote the above review is purposely trying to slander SCS and their image. The company has emails as proof from this homeowner. The job was completed early because the homeowner was constantly calling to inquire the completion date. This homeowner is in Afghanistan, but his attitude is as if there is a war going on here. There is proof from his neighbors that the job was started early and finished early. 328 South Port Drive Summerville, SC is the job location.

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT USE THEM. It was all good until they got the deposit. Then the communication STOPPED That should have been a BIG clue to me. They show up to my home a day early when nobody is home or will be home for the next 24 hrs. wanting to start early. They then were contracted to pour a 4 inch thick driveway and we ended up with somewhere around 2 1/2- 3 inches thick. Also they did some kind of "block out area" for the eletrical coming from the ground. And now that it has to be replaced they are nowhere to be found.
