Sun Valley Animal Shelter

I wish to totally agree with the above reviews. I went with a friend to adopt a dog today. This family had previously visited the shelter, after seeing a dog on their website. In fact, I had gone to the shelter yesterday to see the dog, and found that it seemed a great match. After filing out the paper work and waiting close to 45 minutes, a worker came to speak to my friend. He was asked numerous questions and then told that he was not going to be allowed to adopt the dog. When we asked why, the worker didn't know if the dog was a good match, since they don't have funds to do temperment testing. She also didn't like that there would be no one home twice a week during the day. I tried to suggest alternatives for those two days, but she said that she had made her decision and that was final. Her attitude was so negative, that my friend asked for his application back, since he wasn't adopting. She refused to give it to him, and it took another worker's intervention to get it shredded. While we were waiting, we also saw an elderly couple come in to pick up dogs they had viewed yesterday. Once they were there, they were told the price was $400, not the $200 they had been quoted the day before. When they told this same worker that she had told them $200, she said, "Then let's split the difference." I was so upset that I called back later to speak to someone in charge. I was told the volunteers couldn't give out the names of the people in charge. Instead, I was put on the phone with the same worker, who again was belligerent, unhelpful, changed her story at least 3 times, and hung up on me. Needless to say, I will tell all I know to have no dealings with this place.
