It is a family-owned and operated firm founded in 1919 by John Mariani, Sr. The firm specializes in a variety of Italian wines, including Placido, Cecchi, Sartori, Riunite and Florio. Banfi Vintners also offers wines from Chile and Australia. It operates the Banfi Foundation, which is a nonprofit organization that provides financial help to build technical schools, orphanages. The foundation also sponsors several annual scholastic tours to study the food and wine culture of Italy. Banfi Vintners is a part of privately held Banfi Products Corporation.
