- Transmission Service: During a transmission service the transmission pan is removed and the transmission is drained of half of the fluid. Then the filter and pan gasket is changed and any adjustments are made to the linkage and bands. The disadvantage to this service is that not all of the transmission fluid is changed. If you are looking to have a more extensive service done to your vehicle the transmission flush will replace all of the fluid. Transmission Flush: A transmission flush entails changing all of the fluid by attaching a machine to the transmission. A transmission flush also includes everything a transmission service does. Rebuilt Transmission: During the rebuilding process of a transmission the parts that have failed are replaced. Our rebuilt transmissions come with 1 year/ 12,000 miles warranty. Remanufactured Transmission: Our remanufactured transmissions come with a 18 month/ 18,000 mile warranty. They come with the latest technology and are rigorously tested before being installed. We keep in-stock over 175 remanufactured transmissions and can quickly be install in your vehicle. A remanufactured transmission can be the best option for your vehicle for a slightly higher cost than a rebuilt one. *We also currently sell remanufactured transmissions to automotive repair companies. They offer to put another transmission in for $3500 with another 1 year warranty or purchase a used transmission with a 2 year warranty for $2200.......All I have to say is never again in life!!!! You think they would have done something to fix the issue...nope!!! But why am i not surprised!!!

I am a mechanic and know the ins and outs of most cars on the road. I purchased a car last year used and found out that it had a rebuilt 5-speed manual that was rebuilt by Glen Burnie Transmission, shortly before I bought it. It has less than 40,000 miles on it and was making noise and popping out of 5th gear. I removed the 5th gear housing cover and found quickly that both input and output shafts had been improperly adjusted. In addition, the output shaft was mangled by the technician who rebuilt it. Lastly, two of the 4 bolts that hold the input shaft bearing cap in place were cross threaded and stripped and were only finger tight. This is not at all good work. Granted this was a single technician that did this shoddy work, but I would not buy a transmission from this place ever. It's a shame that a place with such a great reputation, in the past would do this kind of work.

I purchased a reman transmission 2yrs ago with a 3yr-50k mile warranty from GBT. My transmission failed and although I was within the time limit I was 20K over in mileage. I took my truck to GBT on Tues-2/15 and was told an exception claim would be submitted with their warranty company. It wasn't until the next Tuesday a week later I was told by Glen Burnie Transmissions that no exception would be made. At this time I questioned why a decision took so long and was told it was the warranty company who took so long to reply. I called the warranty company directly myself and was told by an employee at the warranty company that the claim was submitted on 2/15 by GBT, and was answered on 2/15. When I questioned GBT about the response time I was simply told no exception would be made for my warranty due to the mileage. As a consumer I have no problem with the denial of the exception, but $400 later in rental car fees due to an untimely response with no reasonable explanation is very unethical and totally unprofessional from GBT.
Thank you for posting this review. We service over 300 car a month, and when a customer is unhappy with our service, I am always available to that customer to address their issues. As an example of our dedication to our customer service we have an A+ rating with the BBB. I do not know why it took us so long to get back to you on this warranty issue. Eventhough you were well out of warranty, I would have done my best to reach an accomodation. Please fell free to call me anytime, Mark Schwartzman, President
