Established in 1971 and located in Gastonia, N.C., First Wesleyan Christian School, also known as FWCS, is a day care and child development center that offers a variety of academic and recreational opportunities for students up to grade eight. The school conducts classes in vocal music, creative writing and Bible study. It offers programs related to math, science, social studies, art, physical education and computer applications. First Wesleyan Christian School organizes spelling competitions, music concerts and sports tournaments. The school provides memberships for art, chess and choir clubs. It offers summer day care camps for students in grades one through six. First Wesleyan Christian School is a member of the Association of Christian Schools International. The school is an interdenominational ministry of the First Wesleyan Church of Gastonia.
