You then have two great options for Cool Tour’s highly-acclaimed city sightseeing tours across historic Galveston Island: Single Ride – If you are short on time or just want to stay on the bus and see all that Galveston Island has to offer, you can take our one-hour, fully-narrated, non-stop tour. This is a great way to become familiar with Galveston Island and help plan your stay. Hop-On Hop-Off – If you want to take your time and not only see everything, but also take the opportunity to grab a meal, do some shopping, visit a museum, or ride an attraction, then the Hop-On Hop-Off option is your perfect choice. Your ticket is good for 24 hours from the time you purchase it and you are welcome to hop on and off anywhere along the route as often as you like. Cool Tours’ East End Historic City Tour is Galveston’s most comprehensive sightseeing tour of the Historic East End. The tour covers Seawall Blvd where we provide live narration of the history of Galveston Island and the City of Galveston including Galveston’s heydey as the Wall Street of the Southwest, the Great Storm of 1900, the building of Seawall Blvd, and the grade-raising of the Island; then you will see the mansions of Broadway Ave; the 19th century homes and tree sculptures of the East End Historic District; Pier 21 amusement attractions; Historic Strand District with its shopping, museums, and restaurants; the art galleries, cafes and night life of Post Office Street; The Grand 1894 Opera House; the Historic Downtown District; and the Silk Stocking Historic District, and more! During the tours, you will enjoy a complimentary bottle of Cool Tours water as you learn about over 30 entertainment attractions and hear interesting stories about Galveston Island’s unique history. You’ll also get a tour guide map showing the location of all the major attractions, shopping areas, restaurants, and nightlife venues so you’ll know exactly where to find them when the tour ends.
