Daviko Gems

I brought two high end watches in to be repaired. One was running slow, the other wasn't running. For the appraisal he wanted $85 to waterproof the watch that wasn't running and another $80 to oil the movement. For the other he wanted $540 to overhaul, explaining it had been damaged during its last service. Waterproofing the first watch involves replacing a gasket that costs pennies. Oh, and it was new as I have an entire box full of them. The second watch had NEVER been open, and an overhaul from the manufacturer costs $500. He got upset when I pointed this out, and told me if I know so much I should do it myself. I got my watches back a few days later (he sends them out to be worked on) and they were both damaged. Neither ran. The backs were loose. He kept the battery from one watch, and I suspect damaged the board as the movement no longer pulses. The other I will send to the manufacturer, but it was working when I brought it to him. I wouldn't do business with this man, he seems to rely on taking advantage of his customers.

I went to Daviko Gems to sell some old jewlery. The owner was extremely friendly and he took the time to explain the process to me and how the jewlery is evaluated, etc.



He gave me a fair price for the scrap gold I have, and even told me that his offer on my rings was too low, and that most places will probably be about the same. He said if I really needed the money, that's what he could offer, but that I would be better off selling them privately to somebody looking for a complete ring.



I took his advice.

THIS IS BY FAR THE LAST PLACE YOU WANT TO GO FOR ANY JEWELRY, OR RELATED SERVICE. TRIED TO GET A TIMEPIECE REPAIRED AND AFTER THREE ATTEMPTS TO GET THE WATCH REPAIRED IT WAS RETURNED DAMAGED AND NOT WORKING PROPERLY. THE OWNER INSISTED HE HAD TO BE PAID AFTER THE FIRST ATTEMPT, AND BEFORE HE WOULD FIX HIS FAULTY WORK, AND SO HE COULD PAY HIS VENDOR !!!.



THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN A GOOD INDICATION OF THINGS TO COME BUT WHAT CHOICE DID I HAVE.AFTER MORE ATTEMPTS TO FIX MY PROPERTY I FINALLY SAID ENOUGH WAS ENOUGH, REPEATEDLY I WAS GIVEN A EXPENSIVE PIECE OF PROPERTY THAT WAS DESTROYED, WITH A LIST OF EXCUSES AND REASONS WHY IT WASN'T HIS FAULT. THIS GUY GOT AN ATTITUDE AFTER RUINING MY PROPERTY, REFUSING TO BE THE LEAST BIT ACCOMMODATING, IT WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD AND THE STORE JUST DID NOT UNDERSTAND CUSTOMER RELATIONS.



THERE ARE TOO MANY OTHER STORES THAT APPRECIATE THE CUSTOMERS WHO GIVE THEM BUSINESS AND THIS IS NOT ONE OF THEM. DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID, AND FALL INTO A NIGHTMARE WITH AN ARROGANT, THANKLESS BUSINESS. SPEND YOUR MONEY SOMEPLACE WHERE THEY APPRECIATE THE BUSINESS.
