Joseph Williams is a licensed Acupuncture Physician in the state of Florida and a nationally board-certified Diplomate in Oriental Medicine by the National Commission for the Certification of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), including the successful completion of the following four (4) Board examinations: Foundations of Oriental Medicine, Acupuncture, Biomedicine, and Chinese Herbology. Joseph is also a member of several national and internationally recognized Associations, including the Society of Integrative Oncology, the American Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (AAAOM), and the Florida State Oriental Medical Association (FSOMA). Sunshine Integrative Health is a proud sponsor of the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer in North Central Florida. Joseph holds two degrees, a Bachelor’s of Health Science degree and Master’s degree in Oriental Medicine. He attended and completed studies at The Atlantic Institute of Oriental Medicine (ATOM), a nationally accredited, licensed College with the State Commission for Independent Education. The Atlantic Institute of Oriental Medicine is 1 of only 16 Colleges residing outside of California that are certified by the state of California, Department of Consumer Affairs Acupuncture Board. There are only 2 schools in Florida to receive this prestigious recognition. This extensive curriculum required a minimum of 3,000 hours, more than 170 credit hours of study. Courses included Acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Biomedical Science, Western Medicine, Herbology, Herbal Formulas, Patient Observation, Case Studies and Clinical Practice. Joseph has continued his studies both in the field and with advanced certification programs. He is a member of Acupuncturists Without Borders and not only trained in Field and Trauma Care but spent time in Haiti treating the citizens affected by the earthquake disaster. Joseph has also successfully completed the extensive advanced certification program, ‘Acupuncture for the Cancer Patient’, from Memorial Sloan Kettering.Joseph also holds certifications in homeopathy and nutrition including, ‘Applied Homotoxicology’ from Heel and is a FirstLine Therapy Healthcare Provider by Metagenics. He is currently working towards advanced studies in Auricular Acupuncture, studying in Canada based on the curriculum of the German Academy of Auricular Medicine.
