Dental Examination
This office is totally and unconditionally committed to a policy of prevention. We can provide you with the means and the knowledge to avert dental disease. Early visits can prevent decay and infections. We recommend that a child be seen for a comprehensive examination by the time the first tooth appears in the mouth.

Fluoride Treatment
The first appointment will consist of a cleaning, fluoride treatment, and a thorough examination. Most children need x-rays for a complete and thorough examination for cavities, jaw abnormalities, cysts, tumors, and crooked or missing teeth.
Dental Sealants
Tooth sealants protect these susceptible areas by sealing the grooves and depressions, preventing bacteria and food particles from residing in these areas. Sealant material is a resin typically applied to the back teeth, molars and premolars and areas prone to cavities. It lasts for several years but needs to be checked during regular appointments.

Crowns
Many young children grind their teeth. There are many theories as to why teeth grind, the reality is that we do not know exactly why. However, one thing is for certain, most will stop on their own by the time their six year molars come in or by the time the rest of the adult teeth come in. If it is a severe problem and the patient is substantially grinding tooth structure away, the teeth can be crowned. Of course, there are no assurances that they will not grind through the crowns. Teeth grinding is not normal but it is common. Always mention this at your next dental appointment.

Braces
Remove a broken appliance only if it comes out easily. If it is lodged or painful to remove, cover any protruding edges with wax, cotton balls, gauze or chewing gum. DO NOT REMOVE any wire caught in the gums, cheek or tongue; contact your orthodontist or dentist. Emergency attention is usually not required for loose or broken appliances that cause no discomfort.

Dr. Jessica Suarez grew up on a farm in northwest Iowa. She graduated from Marcus Meriden Cleghorn High School and Wartburg College with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and attended dental school at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. Dr. Jessica Suarez has been practicing in the Omaha community since 2012. Dr. Suarez is a member of the American Dental Association, Nebraska Dental Association, and the Omaha District Dental Society. She is Board Certified in General Dentistry. “I am excited to be a part of this amazing community here in Fremont,” Dr. Suarez says, “and I want to thank our patients for their trust and support of our practice. Their oral health is our number one concern and we welcome questions and comments at all times.” Dr. Suarez’s true passion lies with working with some of the youngest patients. “As a working mother of two kids, I know how important it is for kids to start off with not only a healthy smile, but also a healthy relationship with their dentist.” Dr. Suarez and her husband, Adrian, have two children, Adrian and Willow. She is an avid singer, who sings with the Acappella Omaha Chorus. And when she is not spending time outside with family, you will probably find her knitting or crocheting, one of her favorite hobbies.
