Overall
Poorly Handled Service

On 4-29-10 the Cosmetic Department held a Cosmetic Fair for PAMF Employees at the Fremont location and I had bought 2 pro sonic skin cleansing kits: 1 for myself and 1 for mother as a Mother’s day gift (value of $360.00) and received 2 free body scrubs for each set. The sales rep who sold me the kit had told me that the kit comes with 4 brushes: 2 body brushes and 2 facial brushes and did not have a kit to show as demonstration. The kits that were being sold came with only 2 brushes: 1 body brush and 1 facial brush not with 4 brushes. I brought up the situation to the nurse who was involved with selling the pro sonic kits to see if they could offer me the 2 brushes. She listened to what I had said and responded showing me the box, “Well, the kit says it comes with only 2 brushes not 4,” as if I did not know or understand how to read. I responded, “If that is the case then I would like to return the kits and get a full refund.” She tells me to contact the pro sonic company to return the kits and they would be able to help me with my refund quicker than PAMF would. I accepted her answered, thanked her and left back to work.

While working the head person of the Cosmetic Fair asked me to come in her office and she says in a very angry, upset tone, “That I was being rude to 4-5 people about the situation.” I told her that I only talked to that one nurse about the situation and did not raise my voice at her in anyway so how can I be rude to 4-5 other people. I also told her that I was very disappointed and shocked I was when I saw the kits, especially from PAMF (Palo Alto Medical Foundation). I was so upset that I talked to my co-worker and she suggested that I go talk to my supervisor about the entire situation before going back to work. Later on the head person of the Cosmetic Fair apologized to me and stated, “That they sent me an email and they are going to give me the 2 brushes.” She also said, “That they do not offer customer services like a retail store .They were only trying to bring a service to their employees and that the sales rep may have mislead me to think that there were 4 brushes in a pro sonic kit, and that there was a misunderstanding between me and the sales rep. ” First, of all I bought 2 kits so they should send me 4 brushes and not 2. Secondly, working in the medical field there is always customer service related in terms of patient care so I have to disagree with her response. To me bringing a service to employees/patients is free of charge such as adjusting and fixing glasses in the optical dispensary without charge. They brought a service that made it convenient for employees to buy their cosmetic products. Lastly, I clearly understood what the sales rep was telling me and I asked several times how many brushes came with the kit. To conclude, it has been over 2 weeks now and I have not seen the brushes they had promised that they would give to me. Receiving such poor customer service I would not recommend or refer anyone I know of to buy this product from PAMF-Fremont and the kits were not cheap. Nobody should ever deserve or received the treatment that I had received. The situation was handled very poorly and unprofessionally.
