Beacon Veterinary Specialists

I took my previous dog to Beacon Veterinary Specialists on several occasions to deal with emergencies and serious issues and Dr. Adamo Filippo at a different vet before he worked at Beacon. In every case, my pet was treated with respect with first-class treatment. Regardiing Filippo Adamo, my previous dog had a herniated disc in his neck which the vet my normal vet, Central Vet, recommended. Central recommended Iron Horse to treat my dog's herniated disc, but after getting the CT results back they concluded it was too complicated an operation and sent me to Dr. Adamo who had invented the technique used to treat this. I was certain I would have to put my dog down since he was in tremendous pain and could not walk and seemed paralyzed. Dr. Adamo worked a miracle and afterwards my dog was pain free and back to his old self within a few days. Later I took my dog back to Dr. Adamo when he developed Cushings disease caused by a brain tumor. Unfortunately the normal vet, Central, did not diagnose it until it was too late and despite doing everything possible there was nothing that could be done. I will always remember the empathy he showed me and my dog.

I took my dog to see Filippo Adamo at Beacon Vet. My dog was having Seizures. My dog needed to see another neurologist because Dr Adamo doesn’t have a CT machine in his office. Which I wish they told me that when I called so I didn’t have to make an appointment with two neurologist. Mistake number 1. And first way to make money of me. So we get to his office and I’ll give him this much he was friendly. But when he was explaining what my sick dog needed which was a CT Scan. He was going over everything and he said after the CT they “might” need a scf Tap depending on what they find. So I totally understood what he said. Then he asked me if I had insurance? And I said, yes. It was like the cash register bells were ringing!!! Then he says to me. Well I can do the scf Tap here. I looked at him and said, you just said that depending on what they find on the CT then they “might” want to do a scf tap. His assistant was there, and I looked at her and her eyes got big. And he said, well you are here so we might as well just get it over with. I was shocked, and didn’t know what to do. Cause I knew what he had said first, but I’m holding my sick dog that I would do anything for to get better. And against my better judgment I let him do it. I’m so mad at my self. Unfortunately my dog didn’t make it to his appointment for the CT. He passed away before his appointment. But this money hungry Vet put my dog unnecessarily under anesthesia and preformed unnecessary tests on my sick dog. If he did have the CT, and did need the scf tap he would of only had to put under anesthesia once, not two times like Adamo would have done and which was his plan. I am so angry with him. He should not be a vet. He is only in it for the mPLEASE PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMAL TO THIS VET EVER!!! He just wants your money. Go somewhere else
