The Head Start 0-5 Program focuses on the overall development of children. The program serves pregnant women and children from low-income families in Macon County in North Carolina. It works for the physical, social and emotional development of children. The program includes motor skills development activities. The Head Start 0-5 Program features mental health care and language development services. It includes home visits and parent-teacher conferences. The program is offered in classrooms that are fully equipped with computer systems. It enrolls more than 175 children and maintains playgrounds. The Head Start 0-5 Program is operated by Macon Program for Progress, which is a nonprofit community action agency.
