Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources is responsible for overseeing all hunting, fishing, and boating activities in the region. It provides various law enforcement services, and issues licenses and permits. It also offers various training programs, and special programs, including archery in Kentucky s schools, backyard wildlife habitat, becoming an outdoors woman, habitat improvement, Kentucky network of outdoor women, Kentucky private lands council, salato native plant, nature plate, project wild, restoring our wildlife heritage, step outside, and wildflower of the year programs. It also issues various wildlife permits, including commercial nuisance wildlife control operator, raptor propagation and falconry, scientific and educational collecting, shooting preserves and dog training area, transportation and holding of exotic and native wildlife, and wildlife rehabilitation permits.
