Classic Products was founded by Bob Carteaux and Marty Schmidt in 1959 as the Fort Wayne Bowling Supply. The company, headquartered in a Fort Wayne, Ind., was made up of two divisions. Carteaux handled the sales of bowling products to proprietors and Schmidt handled its retail business. In 1964, the founders added a third division to the company, Classic Stereo, to market car stereos. Schmidt also operates Classic Bowling Supply Company, and has partnered with Carl Bennett. Bennett added a screen printing business to the company. The screen printing and computer embroidery division offered advertising specialties. The company has grown from 15 employees to more than 50 employees over the years. Classic Products comprises four divisions, offering bowling supplies, lane resurfacing and installation, screen printing and embroidery, and wire die services used in the manufacturing of copper wire.
