Yellow Air Taxi

I was scheduled to fly with YAT on 6-6-11, and bought tickets online in May. After buying the tickets, they contacted me for confirmation of my credit/debit card number, then I was unable to get hold of them again. Despite MULTIPLE calls, messages, and emails, I never got any responses. I just wanted to ask about their luggage policies... Finally, 3 days before flying, I found a separate phone number and called it, speaking with an "agent" of theirs that I called, unknown to me, on his personal cell phone (the only reason he answered the call). He informed me that the airplane was in the shop and not even operational for the flight I had scheduled in 3 days! He gave me another number to call to sspeak with Beth, the manager. She answered and informed me that the plane was indeed unoperational and my flight was cancelled. They were not even going to inform me of it until I drove 5 hours down to Lauderdale the day of my flight! The "agent" said the plane had been inoperational for weeks. I asked about switching flights, refunds, etc, and was informed by Beth, the manager, that they might have the plane back for my return flight from the bahamas, but that did me no good since I couldn't get there in the first place now! Since the return flight was not yet cancelled and I did not want an unusable flight, I was not entitled to a refund. I went to my bank and filed a despute with the credit card department over the services paid for but not rendered nor the offering of refund/reschedule/switching of flights upon cancellation of the flight. The bank stated they would credit my account and that they would contact YAT. The next morning, amazingly, after my bank threatened their money, YAT began calling me and did so multiple times, even leaving me one voicemail that they told me that due to a sudden incident that just came to their attention, the flight I booked on Monday was now cancelled. They forgot that they had already told me the plane was inoperational for weeks and lied to me about this "sudden occurrance!" My bank is currently investigating the charges and I had to book another airline for my vacation. This is by far, the worst company I have ever dealt with for anything. It's a scam to get your money from a nice looking website and appearing to be a legitimate airline, but they only take your money and hope, since when you do discover thier lies, you are trying to fly either that day or within a few, leaving you no time to despute it with them and you just write the cost of the tickets off as a lesson learned. Funny though how fast they begin calling when the bank reverses a charge though. They nearly ruined my vaction. Luck for me, I did not have any resort/hotels reserved that I lost out on, I was staying with a friend at his house in the abacos so my dates were flexible, but I feel sorry for families that book with them and prepay for services like resort stay or hotels in the bahamas. They will not get there, will not have a vacation, and still will pay for everything because of this company.
