General Info

The Traffic Engineering Division is a part of the Public Works Department, which is governed by Broward County in Florida. It works toward providing safe and efficient movement of pedestrians, cyclists and vehicular traffic. The division serves developers, consultants and contractors. The Traffic Engineering Division has management and administration, planning and design, signal construction and maintenance, and signs and markings units. Its signs and signals unit offers services 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The division provides traffic engineering services on public streets and roadways. The Traffic Engineering Division s signal systems section operates and maintains a computer-controlled traffic signal system. In addition, it maintains information on timing for traffic signals, as well as traffic signal maintenance records. The division specializes in the design, installation and maintenance of signals, signs and pavement markings. The Public Works Department also operates construction management, facilities maintenance, and waste and recycling services divisions.
