Days Inn by Wyndham Fond du Lac

Oct. 11, 2016. Checked in 7:30 AM, alone & exhausted. $100 for double room. Manager "graciously" (??) offered no late check-in fee. Room was about 85-90 degrees & smelled **very** bad...dirty & stale. At least sheets & bathroom seemed clean. Room phone didn't work. Used my cell to reportI used my cell to report it. No offer to fix, not even apology, just "Oh...ok." I needed toothbrush (offered on room display card). Front desk argued about bringing it to me. Only available food was outdated Pizza Hut menu & 1/2 of menu was discontinued. But VERY WORST was the FILTHY carpets! Went barefoot in my room & bottoms of my feet were solid black...yuk! Used washcloth to clean feet. Took nasty black cloth to desk at check out. Not only no apology, excuses! Carpets being replaced "soon". Argued with me when asked why current guests should put with filth til then. (Ever heard of hygiene, bacteria, disease, carpet shampoo?!) Health Dept...listen up! I'LL NEVER STAY AT DAYS INN AGAIN!

After having my room lost by Super 8, I managed to find a room at this Days Inn. For the price it was excellent. Perhaps the thing I respected the most was that their night time clerk (I was arriving very late) was awake and alert. He was also very helpful and friendly. I would gladly do business with this hotel again.
