These guys are NOT to be trusted for anything other than an oil change. I have lived in Lewisville for 10 years. I have tried many shops in the area because I own many used cars. I have brought my cars to the Flower Mound store for the last 4 years. Each time they have made a mistake that could have resulted to injury to my vehicle's occupants or just flat out failed to do what they charged me for. Let's start with one of the life threatening events. I brought my wife's car in for a once over because she hadn't had the car in a shop for about 1 year other than the normal oil change and tire rotations. They told me the breaks, struts, shocks & rear hub assembly had to be replaced or else the car would be a hazard. I replaced all of the items they asked me to. But they failed to tighten the bolts that hold the rear shock mounts on correctly. One of the shock mount bolts came off while we were driving. They were so lazy they didn't tighten the bolts on the shock mount properly. When I called them about the issue they said we "must have hit a curb or something to make that happen". We didn't hit any curbs or any potholes. They just didn't take proper care while repairing our car. They also lied and said they wouldn't have had to remove the shock mount bolts to install the shocks/struts, but you can look up the replacement process online and see that's not true. On another occasion, I asked them to replace a battery and they left a huge amount of dried battery acid all over my car's battery storage area. They also didn't notice that the battery terminal collar was loose and almost broken off completely. I was charged a fee for the battery service installation and cleaning. I had to bring the car back because the battery terminal collar was so broken it was causing a failure in the connection to the battery node. They finally cleaned the battery acid after I asked them how they could overlook such a mess on the battery storage area while replacing the battery.

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE SERVICE. This place is a den of liars and thieves. Prepare to be robbed by these snakes. They try to up-sell and scare you into repairs you don't need. This is one of those places that show up on 60 Minutes that everyone employed is in on the con game - any you are the one being conned. I took two cars in to be repaired and they screwed up both AND THEN overcharged for items and the work was very shoddy. Did I mention it was three days past delivery? Did I mention they told me items needed to be replaced that were still viable and not needed? I eventually took one of the cars to a oil change place down the street and they did an inspection and oil change in 30 minutes and charged less than $70 for all items needed. Drivers Edge tried to tell me that belts needed to be replaced and brakes were worn and I would not pass inspection without $700 in repairs before the inspection and service. BE WARNED!!!!!

Took the car in for a routine ...

Took the car in for a routine high mileage maintenance and oil change. After getting the car out it had some issues (e.g., stalling, engine clatter). I took it back with the suspicion that the timing was off, something that would have been affected by the earlier maintenance. They agreed, and took the car back into the shop to rectify the problem. Car comes out of the shop, everything is straight. All well and good with the exception of the poor work the first time around.

A few months later I take the car to my normal oil change location and they tell me they cannot change my oil because the last time it was changed the mechanic stripped out the oil pan bolt. Not only that, but because it was stripped out the pan had been leaking oil pretty constantly. I was running my car on low to zero oil for about a month.

I went back to Driver's Edge to ask them about the oil change (without telling them there was an issue) and they denied changing the oil during any previous maintenance. I had the receipt in my hand showing they changed the oil and they told me they didn't do it. When told there was a problem, there was an even more stringent denial.

Nice place to take your car if you to return to the shop after every visit with an additional problem and be lied to about the service.

Never again.

Outrageous Prices Poor Work

Theese guys charged me $900 for replacing an air conditioning hose. Ford said they would have done the job for $600.

If that's not bad enough, I had to pay Ford $130 to correctly charge the freon after Driver's Edge couldn't even do that correctly.

Overall
customer beware

These guys are all about charging big bucks for labor!! They promised me an answer after I paid $100 for a diagnostic on my fuel system only to be told that I would have to pay another $363 to get a definitive answer when I returned the next day. Dont ask too many questions, especially an exact breakdown of what you are being charged for.
