General Info

The Department of Public Works strives to provide cost-effective services to the citizens of the city of Fairfax, Va. It maintains the city's roadways, concrete curbs, gutters and sidewalks, historic brick sidewalks, traffic signals and storm drains. The department s crew provides colorful flower displays throughout the city. The Department of Public Works sanitation crew picks up trash and CUE Bus drivers give passengers a tour around city and take them to various city destinations. It is also the in-charge of transportation planning, administering construction contracts, and maintaining the city's facilities and vehicles. The department undertakes a range of major capital, stormwater drainage improvement and storm drain maintenance projects.
