North Jersey Pediatrics

Dr. Steinel, is a very good doctor as are other doctors of the practice. My daughter has been seeing her and other doctors at the North Jersey Pediatrics for years. My daughter last saw her in the Hackensack office April 2012 and the Hackensack staff was exceptional. The staff was always exceptional.



Unfortunately, things change.

I made an appointment for my daughter this April 2013. However, I realized something was different because the staff was not warm and welcoming. The day of the appointment we went to the Hackensack office. We arrived early for the time of the appointment; however, the practice was no longer there.



The staff member failed to inform me when I called to make the appointment, that we would need to go to the Fair Lawn office. Ok it happens. I was also not told at the confirmation of the appointment that the Hackensack office was closed in June 2012 and that my daughter's appointment would be in Fair Lawn. A mistake. It happens, but it's how it was handled that greatly disquiets me.



When I phoned the office, right after I realized what had happened, I was informed that I should have known the Hackensack office was closed. How should I have known? I then drove to the Fair Lawn office and saw the office manager, Michele Keller. Ms. Keller refused to take my daughter saying we were 17 minutes late. She was very rude. She said I was late and that we could come back 2:30. She then tried to blame me that I didn't know that their Hackensack office was closed. She said my phone confirmation message, informed me to go to the Fair Lawn office. It did not.



They never mentioned Fair Lawn on my answering machine. I said the information about where the appointment would be, should have been given to me at the time the appointment was made. I said she should have trained her staff to inform the Hackensack patients that they would need to go to Fair Lawn. Mistakes are made, incompetence happens, but rudeness, should not be tolerated. Apologies were given in a very rude fashion. I truly like Dr. Steinel, but due to the unprofessionalism of the office staff, I will no longer use nor recomment this practice.
