Overall
Paying for GARBAGE

As a former employee (and if you think im lying, I can prove it. business cards, etc.) I can say the bottom line is, you get what you pay for.. if you're lucky.

Any piece of mail that is damaged during the printing, folding, cutting, inserting, or barcoding process is simply THROWN IN THE TRASH.

Was that you who applied for college at univeristy X? anti*ch? cl*rk state? Well, if you didn't get your admissions letter or hear back at all, its probably because THE BOSS who monitors/manages nearly every single job instructs employees to simply throw damaged pieces away.

Now you may say, so what if a few out of 100,000 are thrown away, maybe those kids weren't getting into college anyway.

The fact is, up to 1% of the entire mailing, (thats 1,000 letters) can be damaged and never replaced and the post office will still accept the mail as full and complete(based on the 1% weight tolerance for bulk mail acceptance).

Some of the more unprofessional mailing businesses like this have been known to toss damaged pieces because it takes more time to go back, stop what you're doing, find out who didnt get their letter, reprint it, and send it back through where its supposed to go.

Understandably this process does consume time and increases the cost of the job. However, the university or the customer who paid for the mailing PAID for that piece that was thrown in the garbage, and thus their reputation is damaged when their customers/students don't receive the paperwork they've looked forward to.

When this comes to donations, full color jobs, etc. it is pretty important that the pieces you paid for get to those who you are mailing to. You could miss out on a generous donation because a benefactor who receives a prepaid reply envelope every year doesn't get his letter, and thus likely thinks the organization no longer wants his donation.

From kids not going to college to cancer patients not getting the donations they depend on, their lack of attention to detail and lack of integrity/diligence costs the customer who pays for the mailing to pay for postcards thrown in the garbage.

All I can say is, if you're going to spend hundreds of dollars on a mailing, you better get what you pay for, and you shouldn't be paying for mail to be thrown in the garbage before it even had a chance to be delivered. Go with Dayton Mailing Services or another larger, more reputable business.
