Dogs are required to have vaccinations for Rabies, Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parainfluenza, Parvo, a negative fecal within the last six months and Bordetella within the last six months.

Spaying and neutering does not “make a pet fat and lazy”. In a healthy dog or cat, free of hypothyroidism, endocrine dysfunction, or other medical disorders, overfeeding and insufficient exercise are the sole causes of a pet being overweight.
Heart Disease Treatment
Olson’s recommends a variety of options to make your pet as safe as possible. They include: pre-anesthetic blood work, age/breed specific diagnostics (EKG screening of the heart), IV catheter, IV fluids, and pain medications to go home.

Veterinary Surgery
SPAY … the medical term is ovariohysterectomy. In this major abdominal surgery the pet’s ovaries and uterus are removed. There is no evidence that a pet suffers from any personality or emotional harm by having their ovaries removed. The uterus and overies are also removed to insure that the do not become a source of infection over a period of time. If the surgeon simply tied or obstructed the Fallopian tubes (the channel where the eggs must pass into the uterus) in order to make the female dog or cat sterile, she would still come into heat, attract males, and attempt to breed. Experience has shown that the best procedure is to perform a complete ovariohysterectomy.
Spaying and Neutering
Cat spay surgery and cat neuters, as well as dog spay and neuters, are performed daily by veterinarians all across North America, and yet there still is a growing population of homeless and unwanted dogs and cats. If you do not plan to breed your pet, consult with your veterinarian about the pros and cons of surgical sterilization.

Laboratory Services
Our well equipped Veterinary Specific laboratory provides for fast and reliable laboratory results. Because blood work is not sent out to an off-site human laboratory, many serious conditions, including anemia, diabetes and electrolyte imbalance can be diagnosed within minutes. In-house testing allows our doctors to diagnose serious conditions immediately so that specific treatment can be started without delay.

We use the Home Again Microchip with the world-wide standard frequency. The procedure insures positive identification of your pet and allows any veterinarian, animal shelter, rescue agency, or SPCA to read the chip’s unique number. Then a call can be made to identify you, the owner, the veterinarian, and a secondary contact person. Thousands of pets have been reunited with their owners over the years and it is a wise investment in your pet. The cost is only $90.00, and includes the office call, the microchip, the implanting, and registration of your pet.
