Sunrise employees will tell a family anything it takes to get them to move a loved one in... I worked for them for about 6 months and got to see first hand how things work.. As soon as you get in the door they will be trying to convince you to sell your home so Sunrise can be your new home.. They do not have 24 hour kitchen services, so if your family is diabetic that could be a disaster. They do not have a nurse between 10pm and 6am, and the nurses on call never want to come in, so they would have the workers (who are not stna's and have no training in any type of medical emergencies not even cpr or first aid) do jobs they know nothing about, the nurse would try too walk them through it, but thats if they actually answer the on call phone. As far as rooms go most resident do share a room when they first move in, the family is told it's only temporary but that's a trick to get them in, and once they are in they give false promises and it takes months to end up with a private room unless you are willing to spend "the right amount of money" I had many complaints about not getting medicines before the nurse left and yes on occasion the nurse would give permission to pass meds which is irresponsible and illegal.. They are called assisted living , however most are nursing homes they will not call themselves a nursing home because that would require them to have a 24 hour nursing staff.. Most residents are in need of a nursing home to recieve the right care, those who belong in assisted living don't really have the opportunity to socialize because most resident are unfortunatly unable to do so.. I hope this is helpful!

Pushy sales woman. She kept trying to get us to sign papers before we were ready. She told us her apartments go fast and the apartment would not be there if we waited. This made a difficult situation even more difficult.
