Medical Weight Loss
Regardless of the cause of arthritis, physical therapy plays a major role in the treatment of its symptoms. Your physical therapist will conduct a physical evaluation to analyze your joint movement, muscle strength, and overall function, in order to pinpoint the exact areas that are causing you pain. You will then be prescribed a personalized treatment plan, focused around your specific needs. Treatment plans will include targeted stretches and exercises aimed at relieving your pain and improving your function, in addition to any specialized methods your physical therapist deems fit. Physical therapists have years of university level training in anatomy, physiology, kinesiology (study of joint movement), neurology, and many of the other medical sciences. Our physical therapists have graduated from accredited physical therapy programs and are state licensed. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
In the last five years I have been hospitalized six times for structural problems; four knee- and hip-joint replacements, bilateral carpal tunnel surgery, and a severe compound fracture of my left big toe (it doesn’t sound serious, but it was a very gory, bloody mess). Thanks to PTIS I am nearly completely recovered and pain free. Jordan Couchon, Nora Molloy, and Josh Orton have worked their magic on all of the aches and pains that many surgeries and years of abuse brought to my 74-year-old body. I started out with a walker and have advanced to a snazzy cane that is really only a swagger stick but I’m not back playing basketball... yet.

Treatments for your neck pain will most likely include manual or “hands-on” therapy, which consists of special techniques designed to reduce the stiffness of your neck and improve its range of motion. Our Metro Denver physical therapists will also provide you with targeted exercises that will strengthen, build, and improve the muscles and tissues in your neck. We will focus on improving your posture to aid in the recovery of your neck muscles, as well as avoiding re-injury in the future. Additional treatment services may include ice and heat therapy, ultrasound, or electrical stimulation, as our physical therapist deems fit.

★★★★★ PTIS is an amazing physical therapy facility. Their therapists really understand what is needed and work to get tou back to normal. I first saw Kelsey and she worked with me until we couldn’t get more improvement. She felt I really had a serious rotator cuff tear so I was finally able to get an MRI. Therapy continued until surgery which really helped me maintain as much range of motion possible. After surgery I have made progress with Josh and know I will make a full recovery.

I started working for PTIS/HDPT in July 2021 and so far really love it! Everyone is super friendly from all of us staff to the patients, and I love the family atmosphere. Working at both locations has opened my eyes as a recent college graduate by getting to see a variety of patients from orthopedics to the vestibular side of the company. I also am learning new exercise techniques from the amazing therapists to help me grow within the field, as well as the business side of running a clinic from our billing/front desk staff.
Sciatica
Back pain and sciatica differ but are often confused with each other. Back is specific to the upper, mid or low back. Sciatica is a more diffuse, radiating pain down the buttock, thigh, and even leg. It is also possible to have radiculopathy, which is a radiating numbness, tingling, burning, or sharp pain to a specific part of the leg. This is often associated with a herniated disc, or entrapment of the nerve of that area, as it exits the spine.
Whiplash
Head and back injuries from a car wreck are typically the most serious. Head injuries can lead to vision problems, skull fractures and concussions. With a concussion, you may experience dizziness and headaches. Another common car accident injury is a herniated disk. Neck and chest injuries are also common, with whiplash being the most common accident injury. Whiplash can be very painful and restrict movement. The sudden movement of the neck and head in a car accident can cause whiplash. Blunt force trauma from a car accident can collapse lungs and break ribs.
Joint Replacement
Our Metro Denver physical therapists are highly trained in diagnosing and treating movement disorders. These disorders often occur following surgery, especially if a patient has undergone total joint replacement. However, many physicians will also prescribe physical therapy treatments for injuries, accidents, or illnesses – essentially, anything that makes you feel weak and unable to function at your normal physical levels.

Hip Replacement
Wow! I can’t say enough good about this place! I had bad, unpredictable hip pain when I limped into the PTIS office. My doctor wanted me to have a hip replacement but I didn’t want that. There was a lot I couldn’t do. When I met Bob (Letendre) he said he thought there was a lot we could do to avoid surgery. After seeing Bob for a few sessions my hip became more reliable and I stopped getting the sudden, unpredictable pain. I still see Bob for maintenance to continue my productive life. I may have to get a hip replacement in the future but I want to utilize non-surgical means as long as I can. Thank you Bob and PTIS!

Sports Medicine
Highly Recommend Jordan Couchon at PTIS! I have a severe lower back injury to my L5/S1 and chronic pain syndrome. I re-injured this area last summer, and when I asked my sports medicine and pain doctor for his personal recommendation for someone who matches my athletic spirit and determination to rebuild my core and back he sent me to Jordan. Over the course of two months Jordan rebuilt me. He didn’t focus on the spine and core though, he went to the root of the problem. He worked to correct my legs, hips and stance. My posture, upper back and shoulders. And ultimately, my core and back. He sought a long-term fix and I loved his view. Jordan is a great guy, always positive and upbeat. He doesn’t take things at the surface level, and he pushes you to achieve goals. I highly recommend him to anyone.
Physical Therapy
Physical therapy is a medical, hands-on approach to relieving pain and restoring function. Physical therapists are medical experts in musculoskeletal and neurological conditions and work closely with physicians. Our physical therapists evaluate your movement patterns, identify the cause of your pain, and work to eliminate it.
Occupational Therapy
In addition to physical and occupational therapy, additional strategies like targeted massage, specific stretches, and even eye motion training can help to reduce headaches and nausea following a concussion. Physical therapy programs for concussion often build in vestibular therapy, which helps you orient yourself during periods of lightheadedness or loss of balance. To encourage this your physical therapist will introduce you to specialized activities, including fixing your gaze at a certain point in the distance, or using simple movements to stabilize your core and limbs. With proper guidance these strategies can be incredibly helpful in improving quality of life as you recover from a concussion.
Frozen Shoulder
I am living my best life in years. I was T-boned in my car 24 years ago and have had on-going medical care since then. Neck, shoulder and back issues. Two years ago, both my arms had severely limited movement almost at the point of frozen shoulder. Doctors would always put restrictions of what I was not to do. That was when I began therapy with Jordan Couchon.
Tennis Elbow
Tennis elbow refers to pain on the lateral or outside aspect of the elbow, whereas golfer’s elbow refers to pain on the medial or inside aspect of the elbow. Both of these injuries are a result of repetitive use injuries, and can be attributed to a variety of different tasks, not just the sports they are named after. Physical therapy is the best treatment for either of these conditions, because it restores the underlying joint and soft tissue limitations, that are causing strain to the tendons, and reduces the inflammation quite rapidly.

Acute pain can be defined as pain that goes away on its own in a few hours, days, or weeks. The example of a minor ankle sprain would be considered acute pain, as the pain will subside shortly within a few days.

Physical therapists can even treat vertigo due to a car accident. In as little as one treatment, they can fix a dysfunction in the vestibular system. Types of physical therapy include massage, manual manipulation, ultrasound, ice and cold therapy, specific exercises, targeted massage, stretching and aquatic therapy. It’s a holistic approach to healing after being in a car accident. In addition to treatment after a car accident injury, physical therapists can provide services for pulmonary rehab, neurologic rehab, cardiovascular, orthopedic and post-op care.
Manual Therapy
Manual therapy is just one tool in a physical therapist’s kit that allows them to mobilization stiff joints and soft tissue. This specialized form of treatment helps in reducing swelling, decreasing restriction, mobilizing joints, and increasing your range of motion. Our physical therapists have received extensive training in specialized manual therapy techniques from a wide variety of schools and instructors.

Your foot contains several tendons that work together to form your arch. When the tendons pull together properly, your foot will form a proper arch. However, when the tendons do not pull together properly, your foot will form a very small arch, or no arch at all. This is referred to as “fallen arch” or “flat foot” and can cause pain or discomfort with time.
