Mountain Valley Bank NA

Absolutely horrible! I wish I could give it 0 stars! As if it's not bad enough that this bank charges outrageous ATM fees, when their machine malfunctions and it sucks up your card, the customer service is awful! They're machine sucked up our card on Labor Day, when we were on our way home to Maryland! Their response was that we could pick up the car with a photo ID! News flash! We live 6 hours away! Needless to say we are now out inr ATM card for more than a week until our bank replaces it! God forbid they send it to out bank so we can get it in a day or two! Do NOT do business with this company!

I accidentally left my ATM card in this bank's ATM. Admittedly, my own fault. When I went to pick it up the next day, I presented my identification that has my photo and signature to prove the card is mine. They would not give it to me. They had to contact my bank first. I have no idea how they explained it to my bank, but for some reason they were instructed to shred my card, which they did. Apparently, my presence, legal identification and signature which matched the back of the card was not enough for these people to relinquish my credit card, which - they shredded..... I called my bank who didn't know why this bank didn't just hand it over to me when I presented legal ID. Naturally, this made me pretty angry and resulted in me getting pretty impatient with the lady behind the counter, the poor dear. (She wasn't overly friendly anyway) So, now I have to wait 2 weeks for a new credit card to come, when they could have just given it back to me. If this is 'policy' then it is a pretty ridiculous one.
