In 2003 Mr. Firato was one of the Founding Members of the first trade association for the background screening industry, the National Association of Professional background Screeners ( NAPBS ). HIRE-SAFE is now located in Elk Grove, California, but the company was begun in the heart of Silicon Valley. This fertile area was once world famous for it's fruit crops, and is now recognized as the technology capitol of the world. It was in the once sleepy town of San Jose that the famous Firato's Delicatessen was established by Carlo Firato in 1922, now a registered national landmark.
